Content Quality Policy

Story Draft Lab is built as an AI-assisted resource library, but pages should be useful to writers rather than generated at scale for search traffic.

Quality standard

Every substantial page should help a writer do at least one of these things:

• Start a scene or story.
• Create a more specific character.
• Add conflict or pressure to a plot.
• Build a setting that affects choices.
• Turn a loose idea into a repeatable exercise.

AI-assisted content rules

AI may help draft prompts, worksheets, examples, and tool data. Before a page is considered ready for local review, the content should be checked for repetition, bland phrasing, unsafe material, and accidental resemblance to protected fictional worlds.

AI-assisted drafts should be edited for specificity. Repeated structures, interchangeable adjectives, generic conflict, and prompts that only rename the same situation should be merged, rewritten, or removed.

Originality rules

Prompt ingredients should use original, generic descriptions. The site should not depend on named characters, real celebrities, franchises, or recognizable fictional settings.

Safety rules

Dark genres are allowed when handled as fiction writing support. The site avoids explicit sexual content, graphic shock material, hateful framing, and instructions for wrongdoing.

Review checklist

Before a resource is treated as launch-ready, review it for:

• Distinct purpose compared with nearby pages.
• Clear internal links to the next useful step.
• Original generic examples rather than recognizable fictional worlds.
• Practical guidance beyond a list of ideas.
• Metadata that accurately describes the page.
• No public promise of real-time AI generation.

Update and consolidation rules

The library should improve existing pages before publishing near-duplicates. If two resources answer the same writing problem with only a different label, the weaker page should be merged, redirected in a future public setup, or rewritten with a sharper use case.

New prompt pages should add at least one distinct angle, such as genre convention, scene type, audience need, revision task, or worksheet workflow. New tool data should be reviewed like page content: original, varied, practical, and safe enough for a general creative writing audience.

Reader trust rules

Story Draft Lab should make its limits easy to understand. It can offer creative exercises, planning frameworks, and fiction prompts, but it should not present generated material as a substitute for legal, medical, financial, safety, or other professional advice. It should also avoid implying that a browser randomizer is producing live AI output when the current public experience is based on reviewed static data.
